Why I Bought a Wonderswan Color

As a huge fan of the MetalJesusRocks YouTube page, I admit that I’ve watched many of his videos, numerous times. The videos I’ve looked at the most, have to be his buying guides. So a couple of days ago, I was eating lunch, and decided, why not pair my Moe’s burrito with a Wonderswan buying guide video. Now, as mentioned previously, I’ve seen that episode before, and that time, I had a slight desire to own one, but it never quite manifested. This time, I decided to take the plunge.

I purchased a Wonderswan Color today on eBay for $40, and also bought a complete game for $12. That’s what got me so interested in the handheld, most of the games are pretty inexpensive. The system came out in 1999, only in Japan, and the game library is only around 200, which makes striving for a complete set, quite a foreseeable possibility. As much as it is a novelty item, it’s something cool and quirky to add to my collection, and I can’t wait to dive into some of its lauded platformers and puzzle games.

So for anybody looking for a cheap, neat little handheld to collect for, look no further than the Wonderswan. I’m super excited to play around with it and I definitely intent to write some reviews on the games, and on the system itself. And for more information on this console, definitely check out Metal Jesus’ buying guide.
